We met many children near Iquitos who do not have wheelchairs and are unable to walk. We are working with The Wheelchair Foundation www.wheelchairfoundation.org to bring 100 city and off-road wheelchairs to Iquitos for the many people who have no mobility without them.

We are working closely with Amazon Action to provide funding and volunteers for the Women’s House and kitchen in Puchano. We met and love these beautiful mothers who are working together to better the lives of their children.

We are also working together to bring support for the disabled children’s therapy house in Tamshiyaku, also near Iquitos. The house was started by a Catholic priest and is kindly run by two nuns from Mexico. There are children with physical disabilities and mostly with Down syndrome. They provide meals, physical therapy, and some education.

We are also working with Amazon Action to provide a solution for the little community of San Filipe who are not only building a small clinic for natural, local plant medicine for the community, they are facing challenges with waste disposal from neighboring community and their own. We will soon have the many hours of video cut and available for view on our web site so that you can see all of these wonderful people and we have no doubt you will be as moved as we are.

Marco Schneider has not only endeared us with his true compassion and integrity but awed us with his unwavering devotion to helping in the most desperate situations.

Adam Spencer, our newest board member, has inspired us with his monumental efforts after the 2004 Tsunami to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars and thousands of volunteers who he organized to go and rebuild in the most devastated areas

We are grateful to them both for their service.

Iquitos is where we have met and begun working with people benefiting those who truly need it most.
